Haha I'm talking to Aaron right now and he says "Lizzy could be doing more important things like working on new KGHB costumes." Don't hate the messenger.

well, just so you know, those kghb costumes take lots of time, concentration, and fabric, all of which i don't have. and flyers take pen, paper, photoshop and about an hour. so whatever. make up your mind. you guys keep saying you want people to make more flyers, you want more options, and then when i try to help out, you say i should be doing other things instead? you'll all probably have lots of negative things to say about these flyers, but i'd like to be the first: the colors showed up COMPLETELY different on the computer i was working on. they were vibrant, but now they're dull. and, a five year old could have done better? so there. i guess i feel less vulnerable now that i've left the first bruise. but have at it with your mighty weapons of negativity. and next time, you should try: less bitching, more DOING. but after this, i expect there will just be more bitching :/ i21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/8bitlove/GFEST_weirdness.jpgi21.photobucket.com/albums/b292/8bitlove/GFEST_ugly_flyer.jpg

hahaha funny lizzy! bitching about our bitching! no, those flyers look very good, and look like took some thought, good job! youre probably going to be the only one to complain about it. gabe is a really easy target and really this whole debate about whether or not he needed to make another flyer or not seriously didnt need to happen; all he literally needed to say was "i am going to be working on a new tshirt design for grassfest, it can be easily used for another flyer. i also will be making a third flyer with other information about the raffle, food, etc" As far as kghb costumes go lizzy, you know we will provide you with fabric fee of charge. you dont have free time? i think i've seen you spending the night over here enough to know you sure have plenty of free time, bad excuse. but your concentration.. well i guess you got me there. i know you would be getting nothing out of making new costumes, and i guess in that sense its a pretty selfish task for us to put on you, but maybe if you realized how important it is to us, you would be more understanding. like many things in life, this task will be unbearable for you if you wait until the last minute, which now that there is only 6 days left i guess this is starting to get there. but if you spend an hour a day at best, it very well could get done. anythings possible, but whether or not it is probable is up to you to decide. that being said i have a few ideas for the new costumes; i am going to sketch them out today. and sweet evan, with his heart of gold, has inspired me to just make a god damn flyer after all. (although my style is not very professional looking) and i guess i thought of a pretty good idea. so anyway, all of my enjoyment of pissing gabe off on here came back to me; i sat on a bee yesterday! or maybe its from my karma of having a -2 on this forum So last thing i would like to discuss, we want to have some kind of raffle at grassfest this year. now, if we charge money we would be expected to have some kind of amazing prize to give away. so instead, it was my idea (i think) to give away a free raffle with any purchase. this means food, merchandise, etc. that way we can give away little stupid prizes every hour!! anyone have any ideas of what we can give away? heres what i've thought of so far: > a signed copy of RE:KGHB; the last one that will ever be printed in history! > a free grassfest tee > a free chrance EP v2 > a free framed b&w picture of me and gabe in our costumes (maybe) > a free hotdog!! (probably the best prize) > a free bag of whatatreat cookies > free something else rare, maybe one of the tees we only have a few left of that dont sell > 5 free everyone's hypo albums (we have way too many of these) anyone have any more ideas??? Edit: im surprised Lizzys flyer wasnt more "whatatread" themed to promote her selling cookies at the show

that picture is disturbing aaron. maybe that should be the flyer.
with the whole costume thing, i definitely would love to have new costumes by grassfest, but i did already talk with lizzy about it and she already explained to me why she won't be able to. maybe she can explain to aaron? i really do want some new outfits for the show, but i don't want to keep pushing it if lizzy truly and honestly just can't do it in time.
as for the raffle, me and brandon were talking about it the other day and agreed that we shouldn't waste money on a huge grand prize. like aaron is pretty much saying there, we should just give away a bunch of inexpensive little things throughout the day to make things interesting between sets. we could even give away more than one of some of those things aaron listed, like the grassfest tee. aaron's got a pretty good list there; i don't have any other amazing ideas. (haha 5 free EH albums? weirdo)
Oh, and I wanted to start spamming people's pages with flyers tonight. Whose flyer am I going to use!?

I agree inexpensive little things would make more sense after talking about it a little with my fellow staff member Aaron Campion last night. Specially since all the raffles will basically be free if I'm getting this whole idea correctly? Oh and it was a wasp that attacked Aaron by the way! I practically witnessed it!

aaron, you don't have a butt crack? no offense, but that picture is kind of disturbing :/ haha also, i actually don't have much free time -- the time i spend over at your guys' place is mostly spent sleeping but! i do have tuesday off all day. (i can't work on sewing projects bits at a time-- i have to like, plow through it all at once otherwise i completely forget where i left off and i never return to it. i just can't do it. really.) EDIT: nevermind.

That's not Aaron's butt cheek; the sting is just below that. I know first hand that Aaron has a great man-ass.

haha that's beautiful aaron. and lizzy that's great that you're willing to give it a shot! we'll get you the sketches and the fabric asap. you're sewing skills are very appreciated!!! and the idea you have for different artists drawing on things sounds like a great project for the Images section. Might be kind of hard to organize effectively before Grassfest, but after the event we should get that going as soon as we can. It's a great idea!

this picnic is ruining our ants. i dig it lots maybe the ant could have some of that bitmap shading?? i don't know what you call it. because it took me a while to untangle his legs from the grass in my mind but that could just be me, haha.

its alright, maybe the cord can be a little less perfect?
also im sure a lot of you will dissagree with me but im not a fan of the different size text as if some are more important then others. like Who choose this ranking? crunchy co bands at top? rest down below? why is the get so big? this is like our 3rd show. i guess on a professional flyer the big bands are at top in the biggest size possible so why should this be any different? i dont know.
in my opinion Invisible Giants is brilliant so i would put them up top in huge letters.
actually i dont really care about the size any more. it makes sence. i looks like crunchy co is up top in big and the rest is down below in small. so it kind of works in a way. look at the above as just an idea.
oh gabe and 1 more thing. i didnt see the head phones and mp3 player untill i looked at it again. idk why but maybe at least the mp3 player could be a tiny bit larger? and with a few more obvious features on it?? maybe im just a little slow.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I appreciate your comments and ideas. Lizzy: * It's called halftone shading. I did a little bit of that down at the bottom but I wanted to avoid doing it too much. I actually don't want the ant to stick out profusely, in fact I sort of like that he blends in with the grass a little bit. I didn't want to ruin his fine details by stuffing in a bunch of black dots. It's also a matter of the screenprinting. Too many little dots can bleed together and look bad on the shirt. Brandon: I already talked with you on the phone, but I'll kind of go over it for other people to read-- * The cable isn't really part of the scene, it's more of a design element/divider, it's not a "real" object so it's meant to be kind of perfect looking to compliment the perfectness of the surrounding text and sort of frame the image. * I tried my best to set up the list of bands in a logical manner. As you figured out, the CrunchyCo bands are represented in the largest lettering at the top of the list. The list descends from there with Behold the Rolling Thunder and Invisible Giants in a little bit larger letters than the last four bands since they are a little more established. The shrinking text from top to bottom combined with colons also makes a pleasing design element, so that even though the list is in plain Arial text, it still looks somewhat interesting. * The headphones and Mp3 player are in proportion to the ant. The most important thing is the headphones, which should be noticeable as they surround the ant's head. Originally, there was no mp3 player, but I figured that the headphones have to be plugged into something. Keep in mind that this image I've posted is a lot smaller than the actual image. Smaller details will be more noticeable when it's actually printed on a shirt. I'm surprised no one's commented on how some of the ant's legs are coming out of his abdomen instead of his thorax! Everyone knows insect's legs are attached at the thorax! Well, it is a semi-anthropomorphic ant, so I don't care!
