yes. just buy a bunch of cheap used gameboys and make it a point to smash one or throw one every once in a while. like nick said, you don't have guitars so you gotta destroy something. haha or maybe you should just smash a guitar anyways even though you dont use one this is actually a hilarious idea. i saw 4 grey dmg's at value village last time i was there, i think $3.99 each. *also on that, if anyone wants a dmg and can't find one i can hunt one down for you. i see them at thrift stores all the time. not just the grey ones either.

Fucking shit. (refer to siggy)
i cant stand how out of sync lsdj gets. my DMG, my GBC and my GBA all fuck up in the same or similar spots. which makes me think its something im doing in the song that's throwing it off. im not entirely sure what the problem is, if there even is one, and its fucking me in the ass right now.
i want to say that its my LSDJ cart. its as if 180 bpm in ableton is 182-178 in LSDJ (or some small random amount im incapable of figuring out by ear).
the shows tomorrow, and the "Not a Bomb no face" unit doesn't do half of what it says it does (250$ for a brick of useless plastic -__-) either its defective, im doing it wrong, or there really is nothing that can sync lsdj to midi. (i dont want to believe this, there are people who have done it! doesn't leeni do that?). we think the problem with getting ableton to sync with the not a bomb clock might have to do with the midi interface were using with our computer (just an m-audio usb to midi cable we had lying around). maybe the tech is too new, and the midi signal that its sending out of our interface isnt compatable with the not a bomb no face? its either some crap like that or the things just a hunk a junk. so when its all setup and should be working, it just hangs at the "wait" screen. we tried just syncing the not a bomb no face with my KP3 and it SEEMED to work fine... we could control the tempo of lsdj with the KP3! hoorah! then we went to test it, slowed it down to 30 bpm and pressed start. it can control the bpm, but it seems like lsdj doesnt give a fuck about timing. it flashes "wait" for a split second and just starts regardless of timing.
we have spent the past four days trying to figure this shit out, and im getting so tired of this crap!
does anybody have any experience dealing with syncing lsdj to a midi clock? any tips on keeping lsdj in sync without an external clock?
i hate to after all this work just faze the gameboy out of our live performance by using sampled lsdj tracks, but its what things seem to be coming down to ):

Yeah Leeni does have some gear for LSDJ/MIDI syncing stuff. She was showing me last time I saw her at the Vera. Looks pretty sweet.

after hours of yelling and screaming at my Gameboy i said "fuck it" and shut my computer down for a nap. turns out i just needed to restart ableton. who would have thought that ableton would be what was off time. xP

hey look, im still pissed about my "not a bomb no face". id like to see you try and make this bitch sync with ableton.
for this show were just gonna have to press start, which is somewhat of a bummer cause we really wanted to have compression on the gameboy tracks. but whatever man, im not complaining.

Man you did that whole thing unsynced? That's always scary trust me. And man I kinda wish I checked this thread earlier! I could've told you that LSDJ doesnt run on the same time clock as trackers. LSDJ is usually about 7 to 8bpms faster mostly. There are beatmatching programs though! I glanced over some stuff awhile back and remember seeing something about that on the 8bc forums i think? Yeah try looking that up if you're still having problems.

it actually runs perfectly spot on if the computer is freshly booted up, and will stay at the correct speed if the antivirus software is disabled.
i also figured out the entire problem: the kaoss pad doesn't send start/stop signals. so it syncs to the bpm but doesn't have any idea of the timing. we just need a different midi interface for the computer.
