HAHHAHAHAH what do you guys think of the picture of GABE??!!! Nick and Gabe both look pretty silly, im just pretending to play a game or something! if anyone saw a picture of the front page of the actual paper, youd see that me and nick actually look like sex offenders (because theres a small picture of us above a story about sex offenders) I'll have to upload i picture of it later! haha

Yeah, i think it's necessary for someone with no knowledge of the medium to distinguish it from something similar to DJing. Maybe the emphasis was a little overboard, but it was either say "It's not DJing" or "It's not talentlessly playing prerocorded music that isn't your own" which flows better? And yeah, it was all about chiptunes because it makes an interesting story. (and because Nick knows how to steal the show )

Nick just looks goofy. Yeah, we've got to upload a picture of that sex offenders headline with you guys right above it. That's fuckin' hilarious. I'm glad I'm not on the front page with you two sex offenders.

why would any one be saying to them selves, "Oh my god! CHIPTOON IS DJ'ing" enough to the point where it would have to be corrected very firmly in this article that has nothing to do with DJing. that's EXACTLY what i was thinking! like, if anything, that article is the first time i would even consider comparing the two? like, because of that article, i had to put chiptune & DJing side-by-side, when i otherwise never would have. so it ended up being more confusing in the end. but, "no publicity is bad publicity" so it can't do any harm (unless DJ-written hatemail starts pouring in, hahahah) and about the article having a focus-- i think the focus should have been more close to what gabe's press release was. like, i think the word DJ was mentioned more than chiptune was, hahaha. and i think chiptune should have been explained more thoroughly than "it's not DJing" haha. and the quotes he used should have been you guys explaining what it was, since he was too confused by it to do it himself. agree??

For someone completely new and unaware of the subject, i think the writer did a decent job getting some of the major points across, like that chiptune is not really a genre for instance. The quotes were not very good, and a lot of it could have been worded better, but I don't think anyone reading it who knows nothing about chiptunes could really get the wrong idea about the music, maybe just not the best idea, but not the wrong idea at least.
And yeah, from now on it's going to be really hard for us to find a DJ for events if we ever need one. Bahh, they charge WAY too much for doing hardly anything anyways. We'd be better off paying a bum 5 bucks to do it.

The best DJ would be simply plugging someones mp3 player (filled with relaxing music most people would enjoy) and let it run at a decent level quietly in the background. I dont feel its necessary at any event to actually PAY money to have some guy pump "party music" which will most likely be bad hiphop and techno

You all look like you're having so much fun in the picture. Are Nick and Aaron linked? I don't think you were actual playing LSDJ...
the only caution I would bring up to something like this is whether you like DJ's and consider them legit or not, the fact that you insulted them is automatically going to offend and sub sequentially drive away anyone who DJ's from visiting the site. Media is a gift and a curse.

yeah, me and nick were kind of jamming, well he was the master and i was his slave at least. During the interview we had several pretty weird conversations with the writer; us being silly and making fun of DJs was one of the funny conversations i didnt think were going to be a part of the story. Because it was being written for the "good life" section, i figured he wasnt going to put anything negative we said into the article

That's true that a DJ pretty much picks a party way up, but it doesn't take much to be a good DJ haha.

you guys aren't even talking about djing, you're talking about selecting. djing involves a hell of a lot more than picking songs and playing them.
