Is it really that difficult to hold an all ages concert?

Ever since i kept showing up at all of their "bubble tea DS meets" back when i was 15 im pretty sure PG made a point to never do all ages events plus you get to drink at a bar. if all your friends are 21+ why not have it there? but yeah dude, i share your frustration.

The average videogame player is 35? Seriously? That's sad.

haw haw. I'm not quite 30, but a lot of my friends are over that hill, and I think a few are planning to be at Pinkapalooza. On average, the gamers in my group of friends who are over 30 are city savvy computer geeks with good jobs who like good music. Or at least I think they'll appreciate Leeni and Fighter X even if they haven't heard them before. There's hope for the non all-ages crowd. And just cause yer 21 doesn't mean you have to drink. It just means you get to hang out with the grownups.

Is it really that difficult to hold an all ages concert? i honestly agree, what happened to bar with ID? i'm aware that nectar is strictly a bar(i used to live next to it, actually) but seriously. i know that a lot of people bitch about "little kids crowded in at the front" at all ages shows, and lots of other shit like that.. but seriously. you're kicking a huge portion of your target market right in the nuts.

Yeah Nick and Leeni you evil barons of 21+ shows what have you done?!
In all seriousness though, it's not cool. Isn't Pink Godzilla like a comic store? Wouldn't they WANT an all-ages show?

In all seriousness though, it's not cool. Isn't Pink Godzilla like a comic store? Wouldn't they WANT an all-ages show? Because you silly kids don't know that Pink Godzilla is a VIDEOGAME STORE, not a comic store. haha I agree that 21+ shows can suck for several reasons, but I think it's pretty reasonable in this case. I really don't think they're excluding a portion of their target market enough to lose money off it at all. In fact, I'm sure the Childs Play Charity and the Nectar Lounge will both make way more money by having the show be 21+ because 1. Older people actually have money. and 2. More people will come for beer than they will for music. It's too risky for places to have ID at the bar because with so many minors running around, the possibility of them getting a hold of alcohol is still there. Businesses can get shut down for that shit so if I were the owner of the Nectar, I'd make sure to cover my ass too. and I'm not just sayin' this 'cus I get to go. I was under 21 for 21 years so I feel your pain!!

21+ people dont like a separate section off away from the stage, venues work out much better when they are like studio seven, which is two stories so the top balcony is for 21+ and floor is for minors

21+ people dont like a separate section off away from the stage, venues work out much better when they are like studio seven, which is two stories so the top balcony is for 21+ and floor is for minors fuck, more places should be like that. or even split the floor straight down the middle so the 21+ area goes right up to the stage(there are places like this, or at least where it's split off of one side... i'm trying to remember where? i'm pretty sure the showbox was like that. and shit, the showbox has the off to the side area thing too, and it still sells out constantly and the bars are always full of people) what we really need though, is to harness the 21st century technology we already have. i'm talking RFID license cards for both minors and adults, and rfid glasses. if someone who's ID isn't approved picks up a glass it pours on the floor out the bottom(Or sets off an alarm, etc). not to mention scanning at the door, the bar, etc. and the keys would be rotated fairly often. they wanted to put RFID in everyones id anyways...

the way that Ratatat at the showbox was set up was ideal. with the bar off to the side and all.
i have never really paid attention to nectar. but the point of pinkapalooza isnt about the music, for the most part. its pretty much for the PG employees and their friends to get drunk and play games somewhere besides their living rooms. the music just being another attraction. they quite frankly just don't care about us Dylan D:
