So im playing my Red version just now, and it has been glitched out for years now. i used missingno one too many times or something, and now i can capture lvl 160 squirtles on the coast of cinnabar island. now normally when you use a rare candy to lvl up an glitched out already 101+ pokemon it just goes back to 100 or it says "it has no effect". well for some reason these super squirtles are limitless and i can keep lvling them up. i now have a lvl 201 blastoise.
Stats:
Attack: 368
Defense: 413
Speed: 332
Special: 396
i gotta get more rare candys ;D
anybody up for some EXTREME glitched out Pokemon battles?

In my experience, you can level them up with rare candies to 255, and then it resets at zero. Or when you get any xp they'll level "up" to 100.

In my experience, you can level them up with rare candies to 255, and then it resets at zero. Or when you get any xp they'll level "up" to 100. hmm, yeah, i just dont remember being able to use rare candys past 100. but maybe im not remembering right. |

Fuck yea, Pokemon is an amazing game. After getting all 151 on Red, I've been working on Gold lately, which I never played when I was a kid because I thought it would suck, but I actually love it and it has some great improvements over Red/Blue. I was always too afraid to fuck up my game by doing glitches. I'm also too lazy and impatient to level up my Pokemon to unheard of levels. I really only use one glitch to get Mew. Awhile ago I did a lot of research about MissingNO and other glitches in the game. I remember there was more than just level that capped at 255 so I would definitely believe this. 255 was a "weird maxout number" for the gameboy in general. it can't address higher than that. anything that had numbers higher than that in it was just addressing again or somesuch. (think of it like, 266 is actually 1a, 267 is 2a, etc. it's just adding something to the end instead of actually counting higher, and simple starting from 0 or 1 again) why do i remember this  |

that was just a random example.
in pokemon nothing can go over 255 besides the money and such, but thats how(as far as i know/remember) they count higher than that for the money and stuff.
and it's counted like it is in lsdj also. where after 10 it's 0A

There's also the fact that there's a maximum of 255 (FF), or 256 including 00, of everything.
