Recently, I've come to some revelations about the so-called CrunchyCo "Staff", and thus some changes have been made:
* First off, I found it improper to use the term "Staff" for all of our helpers and advisors. The term "Staff" implies a paying job. Not only does no one get paid, but it's not much of a job. The only ones referred to as staff from now on will be Aaron and I because we're the website-maintaining co-founders.
* Since "Staff" is out the window, the new term will be "The CrunchyCo Team". I want to invoke a sense of teamwork and community with the people who help out. While "Staff" gives the feeling of lowly ants taking orders and working alone, the word "Team" reminds us that we are all in this together.
* Over the years, I've noticed that there are many wonderful individuals who have shown a genuine interest in CrunchyCo itself, our artists, and the ideas we stand for. These individuals have either helped or offered help in our workings on more than one occasion, and their assistance has been much appreciated. Many of them have accomplished more for CrunchyCo than previous members of the "Staff", so there is no reason why they should not be a part of our team if they wish to continue their efforts. That is why with the new CrunchyCo Team, I'm opening it up for new members. I want to make it official for those of you who have helped in the past and are interested in helping in the future.
* The first task of any Team member will be to assist in making this year's Grassfest a fun and successful event. I'd like to have people be in charge of certain things during the event so it can run smoothly, and I want a team that I can count on.
And with that I give you the new "CrunchyCo Team" page, which has replaced the Staff page:
www.crunchyco.com/staff.html
And here is the APPLICATION:
www.crunchyco.com/teamapp.html
About the application: Now, I can list by name the helpful individuals I spoke of earlier, and you know who you are, or at least I think you do. I know what certain people have done what to help and I know who I would like to be a part of my team. The only reason I have an application is to make things official. I've observed many of you lend a hand and show an interest in CrunchyCo, so I highly doubt I'll be refusing any of those people.
As another note, I'd like all six of my current members to fill out the application as well. And do it seriously. I won't say any names, but I've had some doubts about some... Any current members that fill out the app half-assedly because they don't think I'm serious, or don't fill it out at all before Grassfest, will be removed from the team until they do fill it out properly. Shouldn't be a problem right?
Anyways, that's it! I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
