It has come to our attention that some of you who have ordered merchandise on CrunchyCo.com may have have been charged additional postage by your mail carrier at the time of delivery. We were not aware that this had been going on until recently, and we were extremely shocked. After one of our packages was returned to us due to insufficient postage, we were very confused because the postage was paid through the an automated postage machine, as many of our packages are. After speaking with a postal worker about our problem, we learned a new lesson about how the Unites States Postal Service works. CrunchyCo ships packages in large bubble-mailers, what we would consider to be "large envelopes." According to the post office, our mailers are large envelopes until you put something inside them that can not be bent. If a large envelope contains an item that can't be bent (such as a CD), then it is no longer a large envelope, it is a "parcel," which has different rates for shipping. If a package is sent with insufficient postage, the additional postage is requested by the recipient. If the recipient does not pay the needed postage, the package is returned to the sender. Now, we're not here to debate the bizarre and twisted workings of the postal service, the point is that CrunchyCo has made a big mistake in the way we ship our packages and some of our customers may have been effected negatively as a result. We are unable to compensate for any losses, but we offer this formal apology to those of you who have been effected by our negligence. Rest assured, now that we have been notified and educated about the issue, we will not be making the same mistake in the future. The price our customers pay for shipping covers postage, packaging, and our labor. We do not want anyone to pay any more for shipping than what they pay at the time of checkout. Again, we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience they may have had when recieving our packages. The mistake has been noted and corrected. We urge everyone to report issues such as this to CrunchyCo officials immediately so that they can be corrected as soon as possible.
