(one last note) we promoted the chop suey more than any other show by means of actually printing out 400 + full color flyers and posters. BUT since we were actually not the ones posting them all over capitol hill and handing them out to people, we dont REALLY know how well it was promoted. AND the flyers were done pretty last minute

heres my suggestion for a lineup: Fighter X KGHB The Lonely Forrest Invisible Giants Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground Siren Sisters ** Aurora ** No-fi soul rebellion ** Ouch. I can probably draw more than Invisible Giants. Anyway, a solid line-up should really be decided soon. I need to know if I'm actually a part of this or not so I can advertise it. Hell I could even make a flier.

listen jack, its nothing personal, thats just my list that would bring the most people / is slightly different from grassfest, ya know? if i only book bands that i personally think are awesome, every single show would be a chiptune-ish fighter x, kghb, mcfiredrill, circles, oven rake, duke midnight show!

That's what I'm saying would draw BETTER for Lemonfest though!

I think sometimes we underestimate the amount of people that are into the more traditional rock bands like the ones on aaron's list. Bands like Invisible Giants, Aurora, etc. probably have just as big of a fan base if not bigger than we do, because that kind of music just has a lot more familiar appeal to people than the music of skinny nerds with game boys and strange flailing men in tights.
Aaron's line-up actually looks great to me. Beside No-Fi, I would personally enjoy every band on that list and I know that a lot of other people would too.
I think there can be more bands than 8. Circles would be good to accompany KGHB and Fighter X, The Get kind of needs to play because it's Zak's band and he's the one who got this set up at the Mirkwood in the first place. I also think 10 Killing Hands would be a good addition. They are some cool guys and a lot of fun live. Here is my list in no particular order:
Fighter X KGHB Circles The Lonely Forest Invisible Giants Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground Siren's Sister Aurora 10 Killing Hands The Get
10 bands is not too much. Certain ones can play shorter sets than others. I would be happy to play a short KGHB set with pretty much only the new BSOD tracks. The Get's set is very short, and 10 Killing Hands could probably just do a short set too. Anyway, you'll notice No-Fi isn't on my list, but Aaron is right that they would probably bring more people to the show. They're not on my ideal list, but I guess I just wouldn't really care if they played or not.

10 killing hands disturbs me, i actually would be fine dropping 10kh and aurora; 8 sounds like a pretty good number to me

No one has even contacted 10kh yet as far as i know. I like them, but I'm not adamant that they play. Aurora has already been confirmed as being available. The following two bands however have not been confirmed:
The Lonely Forest Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground
We need to find out the final word on them and have some other bands to consider incase they are unable to.

I can ask No-Fi and 10KH if you want. I'm pretty sure I live less than 5 minutes away from both of them

Zak has not been trying very hard with the booking. So far it looks like bands from Grassfest tossed together with bands that are playing at Andrew's House Party tomorrow. Not very creative. If he doesn't hop to it soon then I will start contacting them myself. gabe, we have less than a week to get the list finalized, make a flyer, and start promoting. it looks to me like its time for you to start taking control and stop waiting around for zak. im perfectly fine with 10kh not playing the show, but at least nofi would bring a bunch of people

Here is the updated list of bands that are confirmed for the Lemonfest line-up for sure:
>Fighter X >KGHB >Circles >Invisible Giants >Siren's Sister >The Get >Icarus Has Fallen >The Globes (formerly known as 4 years blue)
Here are updates on some of the other bands we were considering:
>The Lonely Forest - Not playing. Singer will be out of town >Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground - Waiting on final answer. Probably not though. >No-Fi Soul Rebellion - Go ahead and invite them Jack. >Aurora - Most likely yes. Lerin will be betting back to me with final answer very soon. >Madrid - Zak is trying to invite them. I don't know anything about them but apparently they are really good.
We'll wait a little bit longer to hear back from no-fi, kay kay, aurora, and madrid. We have enough bands to throw the show with or without any of them so after a few days we can start making a flyer.
As far as how many bands are in the show, Zak is pretty set on having a longer line up. I don't think it will be a problem as long as some of the more low key bands play first and have shorter sets.

I think we need some more Fighter X/kghb-esque bands. It is going to be KGHB's EP release. We should try to target an audience that will care. How come no one's mentioned Leeni yet!?

ok leeni is sooooo fucking good. the more i see her the more i respect her. and how she has vocals with here electronic music it helps her to bridge the gap and fit into both crowds a little better.
also a negative side to bringing her is that we once again have the same electronic block as grassfest. personally i would rather like to see her at this show over the other 3 electronic bands for the only reason of that she hasnt been around our crowd of shows very much yet.
it is a crunchyco event though so . . .
i say yes to leeni playing. even though my negatives feelings are still there.
