Some of these candidates may promise you change. They may fight each other to the throat on what are promoted as "important issues," but are really nothing more than petty grievances. These candidates focus only on style, on appearances. They think nothing of qualites such as truth, and to them reasoning means nothing. Everything is based on sheer opinion, or what they think you want to hear at the time. How often have they actually stood by their promises? Why has nothing changed, even when it's been repeatedly demanded by the public at large?
Now I ask you, who has consistently acted on what he says, has stood strong on all fronts, and not backed down on big oil? Who has argued for not only truth, but justice for all? Who makes decisions based on real issues, keeps his feet on the ground, and his head out of the clouds?
We must not be fooled by these corporate puppets. These bigwigs have to go! Four more years of Hayward? No! I know you're tired of the same! Four years of Fleck? What kind of a name is Fleck!
I, Evan Joseph-Pinero, am running as a third party candidate, to be your next moderator of the Crunchy Forums. I will fight until the end for life, liberty, and the pursuit of all that is crunchy!

well, if there were two candidates and one was a senior member with over 100 posts and one was some n00b, which would be the better candidate? That's not the exactly the case this time, but i think you get my point.

What other candidate is truly prepared to lead this forum? Who else has a comprehensive plan to bring it up to its greatest yet?
If elected as leader of this free, Crunchy land, I will work hard for you, the people, focusing on four main points.
I. Goverment transparency. I will allow full democratic input into my decisions. If a suggestion is made, I will research it thoroughly and act accordingly. If a particular decision of mine is considered unwise, I will temporarily step down and allow the people to democratically decide on the correct course of action. I will not abuse my power, as the current government has done time and time again.
II. Equality and fairness. First and foremost, this will involve updating the constitution. But not simply what I want to see; what you want to see. The current constitution is unclear and leaves so much up to interpretation. I will see to it that this is fixed in the ways most appropriate to the people. Once this has been achieved, no more squabbling over what laws have been broken shall be necessary. Every citizen shall be fully informed of what is expected, and a system shall be put in place to allow citizen's "arrests".
III. Foreign relations. This forum has little or no contact with the outside world. So few people are involved in it, and this is not quickly changing. I will reach out to other forums, and promote this forum as a place for all who wish to join it. This forum should be a place for all who are involved with, enjoy, or are even curious about CrunchyCo. I will also work to establish strong ties with these other forums, allowing full and free communication of ideas between.
IV. Election reform. How long has it been since an election was truly held? Let alone a fair one? If elected, I will make sure that moderator elections are held at regular intervals, and are a fully publicized and democratic process. I will see that all candidates are given a place on the ballot; that any third party who wishes to have themselves heard, can. Most importantly, I will see to it that there is no more dictatorship of this forum.
