What Seth? Sonic 1, 2, 3 and sonic 3 Knuckles is on that list. Those are 16-bit games for the Sega Genesis.....or if you're from the other side of the planet, the Sega MEGADRIVE! Not sure which name is cooler.

Oh were they Still Genesis in Japan? I know in the UK and Europe it's known as a Sega Megadrive.

From Wikipedia:
"The Sega Mega Drive (メガドライブ, Mega Doraibu?) is a 16-bit video game console released by Sega in Japan in 1988, North America in 1989, and the PAL region in 1990. It was sold under the name Sega Genesis in North America as Sega was unable to secure legal rights to the Mega Drive name in that region."
Maybe Lizzy bought an American console in Japan. Mega Doraibu!!!

thats why im so surprised youre so into the mega man X games jack, they are WAYYY too insanely hard and painful to get through. dont get me wrong, they are still a lot of fun, but thats why im just surprised you dont like the original series more if you can hold Y while pressing A and B on the SNES controller, you can beat any Megaman X game. I have been really pining to play the classic series so bad lately. Somebody buy me the classic collection for PS2 so I can destroy those robot masters once more! There used to be a really good webcomic that chronicled the classic series in this crazy in-depth, super badass spin of it. It always made me want to play Megaman I.

Contra. The original Contra is impossible. Me and Lizzy couldn't beat it even when we used the Konami Code.

i would let you borrow mine, but i have it for gamecube, but i have the actual NES carts of mega man 2 and 6 Ha so do i actually. The only game I DIDN'T sell, even though I sold the system! My roommate has a gamecube though, so once we move in, i'll be in heaven. I've heard some video game aficionados say that you can't beat Contra unless you use the konami code anyway. It's just plain impossible without it.

the first Contra on the arcade is probably much better than the NES version. it's actually really cool though when it goes into the "3D" mode. Much better than the top views that the other ones do. But damn, I use the konami code and still can't beat it.

I've only played the NES port of the first Contra and I think that's good. I'm sure the original is pretty awesome. I also like the 3d mode more than the helicopter mode.

The amazing spiderman on gameboy. I had it when I was a kid and was too young to appreciate how lame of a game it is. I actually made it to venom a few times, I don't think it's possible to get there and still have any web left which means you can't shoot him, which means you have to punch or kick him to death, and since The Amazing Spiderman won't actually throw a punch until about a full second after you push the punch button, you're pretty much toast. Bubble Bobble. Sure it's a fun game, but if you want to make it through 99 levels, you've got to schedule a serious chunk of time. Battletoads. I could never beat that rat to the bomb. I actually threw the controller at the television as hard as I could I was so frustrated by that game. Even on an emulator years later I can't get down faster than that damn rat. Super Metroid. It was a great game until I got to a point where I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do next. re-explored everywhere I'd been and found nothing. I guess it's games like that which kept kids subscribing to nintendo power.
