speaking of things that are late, what are the new caption contests and crossword puzzles??? and who won the fighter x and crunchyco banner art contests??

I dont know about everyone else, but the last two months captions contests have kind of pissed me off! caption contests are not supposed to be an image gabe thinks is slightly funny and expect people to somehow be creative enough to leave a comment. A caption contest is something that is very well thought out, has a very interesting and engaging situation that has very universal things in them that anyone can relate / comment about. The last months particular caption contest picture is only kind of funny if 1) you know who I am 2) you would need to know that inside of that cooler was rotting meat and potato salad from being inside an extremely hot metal box (the van) for the several days on our recent californian trip

Its very obvious that last months was a failure because not a single person did the contest. Yes, i know the contest section (and this entire site) is fairly new, but we cant expect to inspire people to start these simple contests when we feature a strange person that no one is comfortable enough to comment on. The picture is of me, and i very well know what was in that cooler, and not even I can hardly think of a caption!!

AHH, sorry guys, that feels much better getting all of that out Isnt that what the Zpat thread is for, complaining about the contests? ;D

But anyways, to fix these problems and any other deadline related problems heres what we should do: Have a meeting on the 1st of the month and discus exactly what we plan on working on/ releasing / finishing / setting up and plan exactly when and how it all is going to happen. Then we should also start having a second meeting sometime around the 20 of each month to brainstorm ideas for the crossword puzzle, think about the caption contest and think of some kind of engaging photo that we can definitely imagine people relating to, and participating in. One thing that would really help if we left our own crunchy caption, and then the contest is basically "can you make a better / more clever caption than us?" also we can plan the bigger contests as well and think of some good inspiring prizes

So yeah, crunchyco meetings on the 1st and 20th of every month, if you can come then come, but as long as me and gabe are there thats pretty much all that really matters

i think the real reason no one does any contests or anything is because our site really doesn't get that many hits in the first place. sure people aren't doing the caption one, but no one is jumping to send in Fighter X fan art either! That is quite puzzling indeed. The contest page only got 77 total views in August which is .23% of total page views. Not even 1/4 percent! If that little people go to the contest page it's pretty clear why no one does then; we don't get enough traffic. We could have the most amazing picture ever and I still don't think we'd get 1. Maybe the entire contest page should be removed temporarily, and then posted back up when we get more traffic, otherwise it's more work than it's worth to keep it up.

But yes, Aaron does have a good idea about meetings. If we make meetings a regular thing, then we'd probably start working a lot more efficiently. Also, people wanting to attend a meeting could anticipate it far in advance and on a regular basis so we wouldn't have to worry about scheduling conflicts. Since this topic has gone extremely off topic because of Aaron let's continue meeting related discussion on a new thread:

You could advertize the site better by putting obnoxious pop-ups on websites of Gabe making a kissy face and titled reading " WANT SOME HOT LOVIN? GO TO CRUNCHYCO.COM".

That or try and put the banner link to crunchyco on other websites. Your pick.

i think the concept for the design would come from zpat #3, the very last panel at the bottom of the screen you will see "project mustache!!" many fans of told tawnie that they would buy this if it was on a tshirt
