Mega Man 9 - After 10 years, Capcom is finally releases the sequal to mega man 9! and not only that, it is going to be complete with beautiful 2D NES graphics and chiptune music!!!!
Wario Land Shake it - Another great looking 2D game! If only companies like Blizzard stuck with what they do best!

Yeah it's too bad game companies barely ever make amazing 2D games anymore. They always have to rush to 3D, and then they end up not doing a very good job.. Mega Man 9 looks beautiful.

This is probably a dumb question, but how cannon is 9 to the rest of the series?
I'm just scared of it being all about the fact that it's 8 bit and back in action rather than focus on the storyline and maybe possibly do what I want the classic series to do more than anything now-close the story gap between the classic series and the x series! I want to know what happened!

i'm pretty sure it's supposed to be very canon with the series, 9 being a direct official sequel to 8. who knows how well they close the gap by the end though.
but holy crap! only 200 hard copies!? that shits gonna be sold in seconds, and then you'll see them on ebay for 10x the price!

i think the story line of the series after #3 starts getting pretty cheesy, in fact how seriously does anyone take the story in the first place?

Yet another indication you've never played the X series. The MM storyline is pretty rad. I could rattle on forever about it.

doesn't the same thing kind of happen over and over again though? 8 evil robot masters attack! mega man saves the day. uh oh what's this? 8 more evil robot masters? mega man saves the day again, only to find 8 more evil robot masters on the loose yet again! i know there's different reasons, but that's still kind of repetitive. i mean, how many times can that sort of thing happen and still be believable!?
the big twist in mm9 is that this time dr. wily has a scheme to make it seem like dr. light is the one making the evil robots, and to get people to send him money so he can build defense robots to counter them.

the story in the original series is not a very big part of the games hahaha, especially in games like mega man 2, the only way you know ANY story is by reading the manual, and then seeing the ending of the game and reading inbetween the lines. yes Jack, the X series has a much more in depth storyline, although i never really got into the X series very much (although i own the X collection for gamecube) they are much too painfully hard (compared to the original series) and have much worse music
